The Effie Awards identifies and rewards the most significant achievements in marketing communications. It consistently focuses on the results or the effectiveness of a campaign to meet the originally stated objectives. However the criteria to win an Effie is not merely limited to results but rather focuses on the analysis of the environment, stating the aligned objectives, development of a winning strategy, and finally its implementation which all lead to results in the market place. Therefore creativity or the execution of a campaign is not the crux of this industry but rather an evaluation of the entire communications process, which ultimately leads to delivering superior results in the market place.
The Effie Awards was founded in 1968 by the American Marketing Association's New York Chapter, as an awards program to recognize the most effective advertising efforts across the globe each year.
Since 2008, the Effie Awards has become a source of learning and has provided opportunities and recognition of effective communications campaigns and for the marketing communications fraternity of Sri Lanka.
As the National body of marketing, The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) which is at the helm of this initiative is proud to launch the only international advertising awards to be conducted in Sri Lanka, with the support of the 4As of Sri Lanka.
